For some this game is a dream come true while for others, it really doesn't offer them a lot. I'm some where in the middle leaning more towards the dream come true side. The concept is great and it's exactly how a wrestling game should be made. Heaps of wrestlers from all different promotions and the ability to make pretty much anybody you like. You have 500 slots for Creating Wrestlers. You can not only create wrestlers, you can create rings, belts, referees. There is a lot you can do.
When it comes to the gameplay, either you're going to like it or you're not going to like it. The gameplay is very deep. I would say a lot deeper than Smackdown vs. Raw. There are so many moves, it really is incredible.
There are quite a few gamemodes. Some that you won't see in Smackdown vs. Raw, but you don't have Elimination Chamber, Hell In The Cell, Ladder match, table match, but there is a cage match and a landmine death match. You're shouldn't find yourself thinking, "Oh, I wish there was a Money In The Bank match" because this game really offers so much.
The graphics are not what people would call good graphics. The game uses 2D sprites. The Fire Pro Wrestling series is a lot older than you might think. The Fire Pro Wrestling Returns graphics aren't very different to the Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium graphics which was on the Super Nintendo. You may think that they could and should have improved their graphics, but if you're a fan of the series you will most likely like the graphics and will know that they use 2D sprites on purpose.
The price is very low. You could not ask for a better price. I imported the game from the US so it cost me a bit more. If you have an NTSC system, you should be able to find and play this game with out a problem. If you own a PAL system, a PAL version has not been released yet. Plus you will not be able to play the NTSC version on your system unless you have a mod chip or something similar.
I want you to have a look at these videos if you can. They show off the gameplay and what you can do in edit mode.
